Get an inside look into diversity at IMA. Di Wu shares his story.


Describe your current professional role and title.

My current role is Department Chair of the Accounting and Finance Department at California State University, Bakerfield (CSUB), where I serve the departmental faculty, students, and the professional community in general.

What volunteer activities have you been involved in at IMA?

I have served on the IMA Global Board of Directors for five years. In addition, I was past president, president, secretary, and treasurer for the IMA Wild West Council. I am also the faculty advisor for the IMA student chapter at CSUB.

Where were you originally born and raised? Is there anything about your culture you may want to share with the IMA community?

I was born and raised in central China. I enjoy tasting traditional Chinese foods and traveling in China. I encourage everyone to visit China for these experiences.

What are your hobbies and interests?

I like hiking, soccer, and swimming. I also enjoy reading history books.

What can IMA do to expand on its D&I initiative in support of its members?

As IMA serves members from more than 150 countries, it may conduct surveys periodically to determine the needs of its members and also should have more discussions to be mindful of regional differences.
