Deborah C. Michalowski, CPA
Deb Michalowski is a CPA licensed in Arizona. With more than 25 years of experience in financial accounting management, analysis, and reporting across multiple industries, she is a self-motivated, multi-task oriented professional and an innovative problem-solver with strong interpersonal and communication skills. Deb adheres to the highest degree of ethics and professional standards, maintaining strict client confidentiality.
Formerly the Reporting, SOX, and BPM Manager within the Global Tax Group at Intel Finance in Chandler, Ariz., Deb worked at Intel for more than 8 years, holding four different roles in Finance. As a business process management, systems, and controls expert, she led modernization projects involving data analysis and visualization using AI and robotic process automation. In her citizenship leadership role, Deb spearheaded a global team of volunteers for Intel Finance's Finance Professional Certification Program, providing cross-site CPE events, certification information, and networking opportunities.
Before joining Intel, Deb founded a management accounting consulting and tax preparation company in Arizona, serving as president alongside two partners.
An IMA member since 2007, Deb has held various leadership roles at the global, chapter, and council levels, including president of both the AZ Valley of the Sun Chapter and the Wild West Council. Currently, she serves her chapter as the Director of Website Events and an Education Committee member. At the global level, Deb has chaired the IMA Conference Committee and served on the IMA Committee on Ethics for five years, including three years as chair. She is currently on the IMA Global Board of Directors in the final year of her three-year term. This year, Deb is a member of the Volunteer Leadership Committee, focusing on chapter adoption and mentorship. Previously, she was a member of the Performance Oversight and Audit Board Committee and chaired the Audit Subcommittee in her first year on the Global Board.
Deb received her bachelor's degree in financial management with a concentration in accounting from Clemson University, additional accounting credits from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Madison, N.J., and DeVry University in Phoenix. She became a CPA in Arizona in 2008 and earned a Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt at Intel Corporation in 2019.
