William F. Knese, CMA, CFM, CPA
William F. Knese is a former Chair of the IMA Global Board and a member of the IMA Emeritus Committee. He served in the Chair role in fiscal 2013-2014.
Knese’s management accounting career spans 30 years. A seasoned financial executive, he has comprehensive finance and accounting experience in both corporate and operations financial management at public and private companies. He joined Angus Industries in 2000 as vice president and chief financial officer. In 2004, he was named vice president of finance and administration, chief financial officer; he retired from the company in 2013. Knese earned a BA in English from St. John’s University and an MBA from St. Cloud State University.
During his years of service with IMA, Knese served as chair of the Performance Oversight and Audit Committee, as a member of the Governance and the Planning and Development Committees, and chair of the ICMA Board of Regents. Knese is also a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Illinois CPA Society. In 2010, he was appointed to and served as a member of the AICPA/FAF/NASBA Blue Ribbon Panel on Private Company Financial Reporting.
