Sander Schimmelpenninck

Sander Schimmelpenninck is a journalist, entrepreneur, and presenter. He studied law in Rotterdam and Milan, and after completing his studies, he reluctantly started as a lawyer in the Zuidas. In 2012, he changed course and started in the field of business, opening two pizza restaurants with his friend Jaap Reesema. A year later, in September 2013, Sander started working part-time for Quote as an editor. In 2018, Sander received his first television program with De Opvolgers. After four years as editor-in-chief, Sander said goodbye to Quote in 2020 and started his own media company, Tonny Media.
Pieter Brokx
CFO, Euro-Caps
Pieter is the CFO of Euro Caps, a private label single-serve beverage manufacturer, located in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Pieter is one of the co-founders of Euro Caps, which was founded in 2012. In the last 10 years, Euro Caps has grown to serve several capsule platforms (Nespresso compatible, Dolce Gusto compatible, Nespresso Professional compatible, Nespresso functionals, Caturra platform for the South Korean market, Air-Up scented rings, and others to come).
Pieter is also the former CFO and shareholder of Oranjegroep, a labor service provider for blue-collar work in Europe, with offices in multiple countries, including the Netherlands, Belgium, Poland, Portugal, Croatia, and Rumania.
Pieter has more than 22 years of experience in the finance field. His career started with Philips Lighting in several controlling roles. His work in entrepreneurship started more than 17 years ago, after finishing the Register Controlling program at EURAC in Rotterdam. After some interim roles as sales and supply chain controller for several multinational firms, he started his first business in the dental industry. He developed several dental instruments and sold the products worldwide. This was followed by joining the Oranjegroep as shareholder and CFO in 2011, after which he co-founded Euro Caps in 2012.
In his spare time, Pieter is a real family man, proud father of four daughters, all of whom are fanatic horse riders. He is a true animal lover, so his household also consists of horses, dogs, and cats. He used to play rugby but that has been replaced by golf.
Brigitte de Graaff, CMA, CSCA
IMA Global Board member; CMA lecturer and Ph.D. candidate
Brigitte de Graaff is a lecturer in accounting at the Vrije Universiteit (VU) Amsterdam, the Netherlands, where she also earned her two master’s degrees in accounting and control and Dutch criminal law. She has broad experience in teaching in executive education, both through in-house training sessions at corporations as well as through the executive programs offered at the university. De Graaff also provides CMA® (Certified Management Accountant) prep courses in other European countries and has provided editorial assistance for CMA review materials. She is currently a Ph.D. candidate at VU Amsterdam.
De Graaff has been an active board member for IMA’s Amsterdam Chapter for seven years, during which time she fulfilled multiple roles, including chapter vice president, before becoming president-elect of the chapter. A member of the IMA Global Board of Directors, de Graaff serves on IMA’s Volunteer Leadership Standing Board Committee and as chair of IMA’s Global Sustainable Business Management Global Task Force.
Brenno de Winter

Alain Mulder

Alain Mulder has extensive experience in finance, business development, operations, marketing, and communications. Alain was a finalist in the 2020 Executive Director of the Year awards by the Association of Association Executives (AAE).
Alain is frequently asked to speak at international events on topics such as the future of finance, finance transformation, professional development, accounting, and global economic conditions.
Before joining IMA, Alain worked at the Institute of International Research, where he conducted market research on market developments in accountancy, finance, and IT. He worked for several U.S. organizations in a Pan-European business development role, focusing on market and client research and growing the client portfolio. He was also the founder of a start-up that puts technology at the forefront, providing more financial transparency to real estate owners.
Gwen van Berne, CMA

Gwen van Berne is the Chair of IMA’s Global Board of Directors for the 2022-2023 fiscal year. She is also serving as chair of the Nominating Standing Board Committee and as a member of the Governance Standing Board Committee and the Strategic Planning Standing Board Committee. In addition, van Berne serves as a trustee of the ICMA Board of Trustees, IMA Research Foundation Board of Trustees, IMA Memorial Education Fund, and the IMA Europe Board.
Van Berne is the director of finance and risk at social impact investor Oikocredit. She has 23 years of experience in the financial services sector and was most recently the CFO of RIPE NCC, an internet registry that supports internet operations across the globe.
Previously, van Berne fulfilled a variety of roles within ABN AMRO Bank as head of capital and risk reporting (ABN AMRO Bank NV), global manager of business development (ABN AMRO Clearing Bank NV), and manager of private banking (ABN AMRO Mees Pierson Wassenaar). She also served as a supervisory board member and chaired the Risk and Audit Committee for International Card Services, a payments provider in the Netherlands.
In her spare time, van Berne is the treasurer of the Delft Chamber Music Festival. She is also curatorium member of the executive education program for the CMA program at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.

Prof. Dr. Mike Schulze as the honorary professor-in-residence of IMA Europe. Schulze is full-time vice president and professor of controlling, accounting, and financial management at CBS International Business School in Mainz, Germany. He is also a senior research fellow at EBS Universität für Wirtschaft und Recht in Oestrich-Winkel, Germany, as well as lecturer in executive education at Frankfurt School of Finance and Management.
Schulze specializes in management accounting/controlling, performance measurement, digital technology solutions, sustainability accounting, energy management, and integrated reporting. His teaching experience covers additional subjects like innovation control, empirical research methods, business/management simulation games, and business projects with corporate partners.

Jacqueline van den Ende is co-founder of Amsterdam-based climate fintech company Carbon Equity. Carbon Equity seeks to connect next-generation capital to the world’s most impactful climate investing opportunities. Jacqueline brings a rather unique perspective as a founder turned investor turned founder, twice over. She worked as a private equity investor at HAL Investments and more recently as a general partner at Venture Capital Fund Peak Capital. She spent the other half of her career to date building and leading companies, including De Kleine Consultant, one of the largest European student-run strategy consultants, Rocket Internet-backed online real estate marketplace, Lamudi in South East Asia. and Ant Financial backed Fintech scale up TrueMoney.
Jacqueline is obsessed with the question of how we can leverage capital most effectively to mitigate climate change. In addition to her role as founder and CEO of Carbon Equity, she serves on the board of the Dutch last mile delivery scale-up Trunkrs. Jacqueline obtained an MSc degree in Economics from the Erasmus University in Rotterdam and a BA in Social Sciences from University College Utrecht.

Laurens Weers
CFO, PhotonDelta/Former CFO, Lightyear
Laurens Weers is a board member and CFO for PhotonDelta. PhotonDelta was created by mandate of the Dutch government in December 2018 to accelerate the emerging Dutch integrated photonics industry, and it was granted €240 million to execute the national plan for photonics. In May 2022, PhotonDelta’s proposal for the Dutch national growth fund was successfully awarded €1.1 billion. These funds are designated for the expansion of the ecosystem, industrialized production, and the development of application technology.
Directly prior to joining PhotonDelta, Laurens was CFO for Lightyear between March 2020 and January 2023. Before joining Lightyear, he held two other CFO positions, one at a scaleup that developed and produced LED-drivers as an OEM supplier to Lighting manufacturers, and one at a private-equity-owned, fast-moving consumer goods brand. He started his career in auditing at EY and in total had 13 years of experience as an auditor. Laurens is a Certified Public Auditor (Registeraccountant in Dutch).
Laurens has a wife and two sons (4 and 1 year old).
Charlotte Hugman

Charlotte is the Engagement Lead for WBA’s Financial System Benchmark, which assesses the 400 most globally influential financial institutions’ performance on governance and strategy, climate and biodiversity action and social inclusion. Through this, Charlotte drives strategic, multi-stakeholder engagement and works to translate the benchmark findings into impact. She works with policymakers, investors, civil society, academia – and financial institutions themselves – to catalyse just and equitable financial system change in line with the SDGs and the Paris Agreement goals.
Michael DePrisco
President and CEO, IMA
Mike DePrisco is the President and CEO of IMA® (Institute of Management Accountants). DePrisco brings more than 30 years of leadership experience to his role and is excited to help IMA grow further as one of the most influential finance and accounting associations worldwide. IMA has a global network of about 140,000 members in 150 countries and 350 professional and student chapters.
Prior to joining IMA, DePrisco served as the COO of Project Management Institute (PMI), where he provided executive leadership to the operations of the global organization, supporting more than 2 million certification holders, 680,000 members, and 300 chapters from over 200 countries. DePrisco led a diverse global team with a focus on membership and community growth & retention, certification, digital products, and successful execution of major initiatives. He also served as interim President and CEO in 2021-2022.
DePrisco initially joined PMI in 2013 as vice president of academic and educational programs before expanding his scope and responsibility to vice president of global membership & chapters and vice president global solutions. He also served as COO of the Project Management Institute Educational Foundation (PMIEF) for seven years.
Before PMI, DePrisco spent 20 years in various leadership & executive roles in higher education in the U.S.
DePrisco earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from West Chester University of Pennsylvania and has earned additional certifications in international business and digital strategy.
